St. Louis County, MO – This evening, at their regularly scheduled meeting, the St. Louis County Republican Central Committee members voted unanimously to support a veto override of Missouri’s Right to Work Legislation.

Gov. Jay Nixon vetoed HB 116 and 589 early in June which would have effectively made Missouri the 26th state in the country to become a Right to Work state. House and Senate Republicans in Missouri will attempt to override the governor’s veto in the upcoming veto session.

The Resolution was proposed by Rene Artman, Meramec Township Committeewoman. In support of the amendment Jennifer Bird, Gravois Township Committeewoman, mentioned that passage of the bill would mean unions would put fewer resources in Missouri during the 2016 election cycle. Therefore passage is imperative.

The St. Louis County Central Committee is made up elected representative from each township in St. Louis County.
