On the list of “things to do” for our new County Executive is to increase the minimum wage. He believes that putting more money in residents’ pockets will increase everyone’s standard of living. He also contends that it works every time it is tried. However, one of the complaints against the minimum wage is high unemployment for our youth and, there is no question that, we have that problem in St. Louis City and County.

Wouldn’t it be nice that we could wave a wand (pass a law) that increases our standard of living? But, how would increasing youth employment improve Ferguson and the rest of St. Louis County. How should it be done or not be done.

Here is good, SHORT, video to discussing the “Right Minimum Wage.”
