Jefferson City, Mo – The Missouri Republican Party announced Friday, former Congressman Allen West as the keynote speaker for the Midwest Republican Leadership Conference (MRLC) in Kansas City.
“Some guys walk the walk and then are guys that talk the talk. Colonel West is that unique blend of both,” said Ed Martin, Chairman of the Missouri Republican Party. “He was a war hero, a conservative lawmaker, and is an American original.”
Martin continued, “Colonel West is the dynamic leader Republicans can learn a lot from. Midwest Republicans should run not walk to Kansas City!”
John D. Wiemann, National Pachyderm President said, “We are proud to have the opportunity to present The Taste of Kansas City at the Midwest Republican Leadership Conference. Colonel West is a patriot, a gentleman and an amazing orator.”
Allen West joined the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program in the tenth grade and entered the United States Army in 1983 after he graduated from the University of Tennessee.
West earned his master’s degree in political science from Kansas State University as well as a masters of military arts and sciences degree from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officer College in political theory and military history and operations.
West joined the class of the 112 Congress in January 2011, after winning Florida’s 22 Congressional District.
