JEFFERSON CITY • The heat that state Sen. Brad Lager has put on Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder hasn’t been enough to erase the two-term incumbent’s lead in the GOP primary for lieutenant governor, according to a Post-Dispatch/News 4 poll.
The poll, conducted Monday through Wednesday, asked voters in each party whom they would support in the primary.
In the Republican poll, Kinder, seeking a rare third term, was favored by 47 percent of those surveyed compared with Lager’s 21 percent. About a fourth of the respondents were undecided.
